The council has a new member for Ward 7 and has established its committees for Council period 26.

Councilmember Janeese Lewis George will continue chairing the committee that oversees the Department on Disability Services (DDS) along with other important agencies.  Formerly the Committee on Facilities and Family Services, it now will have the briefer (and slightly inappropriate) name of the Committee on Facilities.  The committee membership will include:
