For reasons that aren't clear to me, DDS does not keep track of, and does not publicize for service coordinators and providers, and for self-advocates and families, the Social Security Administration's annual revisions to SSI, SSDI and other amounts. This would be far more efficient than expecting people and families to inform service coordinators individually about these amounts, as is currently the case. However, since DDS does not share that information widely, here for your benefit are the changes, announced by the Social Security Administration yesterday, that will take effect on January 1, 2027: https://www.ssa.gov/news/en/cola/factsheets/2027.html.
DDS also does not ensure that people receiving supported-living services, and their families where appropriate, are kept aware of annual cost-of-living changes in the personal needs allowance (PNA). Since I'm not sure exactly how those PNA increases are calculated, I will only use my voice here to encourage DDS to make those calculations and distribute that information for 2027 as soon as possible.
